How much does my family resemble these families described here? hmmm after skimming through the article "weird family" i came to the conclusion that no my family does not resemble them. that is like way beyond extreme. Though in my house theres really not a lot of time spent together as a family. When i get home from school we all eat together at the dinner table as a family. we usually just talk about our day and what occurred throughout it..but this doesnt last very long because i tend to eat my food fast. as each person finishes we get up..usually im the first then followed by my brother. my parents most of the time are the last ones to leave the table. after that we all go in each others rooms. then since my parents work at night they leave and we dont see them till the next day. most of my time is spent in my room. i guess the only time we actually spend time together is on friday nights. weekends i usually go out during the afternoon and my parents sometimes get called in to work in the mornings on saturdays. so i guess my family doesnt spend as much time together as we should but were certainly not like the families that were described in the article.

The house of Dan Martensen and Shannan seems to revolve around nature with all the green plants and the wide variety of the different trees it contributes to making the home have a calming peaceful atmosphere. in the first half of the couples picture they are all outside which suggest that they enjoy the beauty of nature and appreciate to a full extent. From just looking at the pictures you can see how relaxing and pleasant it would be to actually be there. the pictures allude that their home is a stress free environment. Inside the house is very lit up from the natural light coming in from the windows which enhances the beauty of the structure of the house. Dan and Shannon also seem to have an interest for paintings and art. The have many painting in various rooms of the house along with different decorating accessories.

where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Some of the students just by looking at their picture and their description of what they would like to do you can tell that that would be something they might choose. For example the first girl wants to be a hair and makeup artist. If you were to picture her working for a magazine doing hair and makeup you could totally see that. her appearance pretty much says it all. umm one i find hard to picture is the one girl who wants to be a physical therapist. if i were to ever need to see one i would want them to look nice and gentle but she appears more rocker type with her piercing and the way she is dressed. of course thats just a stereotype. The Asian guy i could see him as a doctor but hes not really setting his standards high. he mentioned in his little speech something about if he did do his work and hes only planning on going two years. at the beginning he mentioned that he wanted to be a pilot but he cant because of his vision so then hes going to be a doctor because thats what his family expects him to be. the red head girl who wants to be an actress has a long road ahead of her. in 10 years i hope to be done with college and be working in a hospital and in good economic conditions.

spring ?

So this past week i finally thought we had kissed winter weather goodbye for the rest of the year. Why am i not surprise to find out that i am wrong. Today its all rainy and it would not be so bad except for that fact that it cold and the temperature is just going to continue going down. I heard some possible flurries for Thursday and Sunday. Really?? Its officially spring and this is what we get. This kind of weather makes me wish that i lived somewhere warm..like California or Florida. But i just hope that this spring break it doesnt rain all week like its been the past few years. although last year wasnt too bad.

1000 awesome things

-Coming back to your own bed after a long trip.
i totally agree with this. I remember when i was
in elementary school and i went on vacation for
like 3 weeks. it felt so good when i got home to
sleep in my own bed again!

-Correctly guessing if the door is push or pull.
hmmm i dont think i find this "awesome" i dont
really try to see if i am right. usually i find
out once i have already tried opening the door
the wrong way and look like a complete idiot in
front of people.

-When a cop finally passes you after driving behind you for a while.
YESS!! that does feel awesome.haha even though
i know i am not speeding or doing anything wrong
i just feel paranoid when there is a cop around.
specialty if i am driving care free (not in a wreckless way)
then out of nowhere..BAM..the cop car appears. then when
it disappears its like..ahh..you can finally breathe.

Should kids be allowed to control what they learn, how fast they learn, or how they go about learning it? In the " let kids rule the school" article that is exactly what eight students were chosen to test out. It would be nice to learn at my own pace and choose what i want to find out. I don`t know that it would work for me or even here at the school. first of all our school is too large to do something like that and it would most likely get out of hand. i feel like it would be successful in a small group like they did. I am not sure if it would work for me because i need teachers to guide me through things so that i can be prepared to go and do the assignment they assign. even though sometimes they assign things that are at a higher level than what we should be learning or that they have even taught. If we were all put in small groups to do this, i have to wonder how many students would actually take this seriously. There is a possibility that they will end up being in the same group as their friends and might get distracted along the way or feel like they can slack off since they arent really getting graded on it. Maybe if schools were designed so that we could pick classes that would actually contribute towards our future careers not as many people would be giving up on school. some of the classes i am taking or have taken i will probably never use in my life. so if our schedules were made just for us and had what we wanted to learn then so many students wouldn`t feel the need to drop out.

Spellbound Response

Studying, studying, and more studying is all the participants have done in the prior months. They have spent hours and hours learning how to spell the word, the origin of it, where it comes from, and how to pronounce it. Angela has worked very hard to prepare for the competition. She has used different methods to study that is fun for her; like making a crossword puzzle. Ashely also finds exciting ways for her to study, as she jump ropes with her friend she chants each letter of the word she is spelling. They both found ways to enjoy learning. Before the competition started Angela was nervous unlike Ashley who appeared calm. When it came to them spelling the word Angela was used a calm approach contrasting Ashely as she nervously freezes on stage. They both has similar reactions to their lost. Angela was not upset when she lost and said that she "felt relieved." Ashely says that its what she loves to do and that to her it does not matter what place she comes in. Over all the they both had similar tactics as well as the way they see the competition as.

Early break?

With all the cancellations added up its as if we have had already our spring break..but not really. Dont get me wrong i enjoyed having those days off but then again i would of rather been at school getting in the days required by the state and not have to come a week longer in JUNE. We were originally suppose to get out the 1st of June and now were up to the 9th. Thanks so much mother nature ... n o t!! Tuesday i didnt really do much, just slept in and stayed at home for the day. I was diffidently expecting to get closed on Thursday and i was rather shocked when we did. I slept in but not as much as the days before. I went out to eat with my friend and had a good time out. We talked about how it would be nice to have Friday off because then we would of had a four-day weekend. AND i didnt doubt it one bit that we would get closed when i looked outside at 3am and saw cotton size snowflakes falling. That day i woke up early and stayed awake since i had already gotten more than enough sleep from the night before. Friday there wasnt really much to do due to all the snow. Saturday i got to go to Chicago! We went to the Navy Pier and i got to see some friends that live there. I saw a movie on Sunday, Roommate, thought it was going to be scary as in the previews but it turned out to be more suspense than anything. It got predictable at times but i guess it wasnt a bad movie. overall i had a great extended weekend but i am upset about how much school has been pushed back to.

dear snow, please go [a w a y]

Is it too early to start wanting spring break to come ?
i think not!! lately with this nice weather we have been having it
makes it seem like we should be on spring break. i am so tired of
all the snow. it was pretty for a while but now i just want it gone.
the part i do hate about the transition between winter and spring is
the melting of the snow. everything turns into slush and dirty puddles. yuck!
not only do i want it to come because of the weather but because that
would implicate that we would almost be done with the year and this
year diffidently has seemed like the longest year of my life. every other
year has gone by so fast. i think its because this is the year where i am
taking important classes at the same time and some of the teachers
that i got this semester i don`t like how they teach, so i guess that could
be another factor why it seems to be going by soooo slow. either way
spring needs to get here a.s.a.p !!

love pink ? ;)

Elle Woods from the movie Legally Blonde appears to be outgoing which portrays that she has a bubbly personality. She is dressed from head to toe in pink as well as her dog Bruser. Their matching outfit suggest that Elle is a confident and also that she loves pink. Elle is standing in front of what seems to be a white court house building wearing a very nice professional suit that implies that she could be a lawyer. Her proper posture compliments her and her tiny dog Bruser.

teen driving

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/03/teenagers-friends-and-bad-decisions/?src=me&ref=general

Its obvious and everyone already knows that most teenagers drive crazy with friends around and make bad decisions. I agree and disagree at the same time with the teen driving article. yes teens are more tempted to do crazier things when they are with their friends, but it could also go the other way too. Some teens have already experienced the outcome of taking risky choices. whether its because it happened to them themselves or to someone who was close to them.
some teens may feel more pressured to make bad choices when friends are around because they may be insecure and think that if they do all that that it will make them cool. either way there are smart teens out there who know better than to let other people influence them into making the wrong choice.

Catching Fire

One of my favorite books is The Hunger Games. I read it earlier this year and it was very good. Ive now started read the next book in the series "Catching Fire." So far i have read all of part one. Once i think  i know whats going to happen next the unexpected  happens. I just found out that Catniss might have to go back into the hunger games because its the 75th year of the games. As for Petta maybe not since there are two guys to choose from. I also found out that there may be a possibility that there may be a thirteenth district. Most of the districts are starting to rebel against the capital. Im not sure of what is going to happen next.

83-180

today i finished reading the book "A Called "It" "
"wow" is really all i can say. From where i had left
of, the content of the book didn't really change other
than the extent of the punishment David received. It
only got worse and worse. i still wonder how/what
caused this women to change in such an anger manner.
everything seemed so "perfect" and "right." David did
escape that horrible living nightmare. With the help of
teachers and staff they free`d him from that evil heartless
monster. In this book it does not explain what happen to
his parents or his siblings. i imagine both parents went to
jail for a given amount of time, but as for the other children
i`m unsure. It list two other books that are suppose to
answer questions any reader may have. it also has two
other books that i`m guessing have to do with child abuse.
in the future i am planning on reading the rest of the books
that follow his life. i might even take a look at the other two
shone in there.

a child called "it"

I recently started to read this book. some friends had to told me that i should because they had really liked it even though it was really sad and violent.
im about halfway through reading the book. it is honesty shocking to read everything that the child suffered through.
I don`t understand how someone so loving and caring could change so drastically and even more towards her own child. How could any human be so cruel to another human being. i`m not sure if i missed it or what but i don`t understand why the mother changed her feelings all of the sudden the way she did. at first i thought it was because her husband has left her but that`s not it. so i`m still wondering about that.
I`m frustrated, mad, and discussed about the mother. But i`m even more mad at the father for letting it happen. At first he was unaware of what the mother was doing to one of his three children because she only did it when he was away somewhere or when he was working. But later he found out what was going on and even though he argued with his wife about giving him those punishments he never really tried. yes he would "lose" in their arguments between each other but he still could have done other things like call the police or report it as child abuse. Was this man scared or afraid he might get punished too for something  he didn`t do? At the beginning he might of not but in the middle when he just stood there and watched his son swallow Clorox or other household cleaning products and watched as his son fought for air and did absolutely nothing to stop it, then he would have gone to jail also.
This kid was very brave for having the courage to try and survive  and win this battle against his monster mom. I`m eager to finish this book and find out what ends up happening to his parents.

ehh..not a hit

Earlier this week i started to read "Outliers." Definition of outlier: 1. something that is situated away from or classed differently from a main or related body. 2. a statistical observation that is markedly different in value from the others of sample.
This book has to do with the second definition. When i first started to read the first few pages it was interesting but i as read further and further it got boring because it seemed to repeat the same things over and over again.
I read up to page 40 and up to there it explained different situations with common statistics. The observations that were made was that the more talented or successful a person is was usually born towards the beginning of the year. One of the example was a Canadian hockey team. It showed that the boys who usually were the most talented or "best" in their age rage had birthdays towards the beginning of the year. 17 out of the 25 players on the 2007 Medicine Hat Tigers hockey team had  birthdays within the first four months.
The book goes on about how similar observations were made for other things.
It`s not that it is a bad book but just not interesting enough for me to keep on reading. Maybe later on i will finish this book but for now i am moving on.

SMILE GOD LOVES YOU
&
when life gives you a hundred reasons to CRY show life a thousand reasons to
SMILE Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ¨

These two sayings right here are probably my two favorites. The first one explains it`s self and is just beautiful. The second one makes you think a little and realize it`s true. No matter how hard something is or how wrong it`s going it is never a reason to give up, just a reminder that you are a human and it`s ok not to be perfect and that things happen for a reason, whether it`s good or bad. Never show your "haters" your weakness.
ALWAYS SMILE...IT MAKE LIFE 1000 TIMES BETTER ;)
